Is It The Heat?

Hallelujah! Elijah only woke twice last night, at 2 and 5:30. We got some rain last night, cooling everything down. Could it be that the heat was waking him up every 2 hours? Who knows. But I feel renewed from getting so much uninterrupted sleep. Thanks for the prayers, and pray that this trend (and cool weather) continues.

In other news, he has figured out rolling from his back to his tummy. Now he's always on his tummy, and he doesn't seem to mind. It's provided much entertainment. I'll likely upload some more pics today, so look for those.

Pictures & Sleep Patterns 4

I added some more pictures of Elijah to my website (see links on the right). It has been remarked he's noticeably putting on weight. We're really happy about that, we want a healthy baby.

Elijah isn't sleeping through the night anymore. We're not sure what brought this on, but it's taken some getting used to. He'll fall back asleep easy enough though. He really seems to like his crib which is great. But please pray he'll return to a better sleep routine. :)

Nana's Pictures

Nana has posted her pictures from our visit.

New Video

This was a video I shot of Elijah & Grampy playing Elijah Of Arabia.

Growing Boy

Dr. Perry was very pleased with Elijah's growth. He has doubled his birth weight, and he's so tall. I love a check-up where they tell you your baby is perfect. :)

He'll go back in September for his 6 month check-up. Dr. Perry said a little bit before the appointment, we can give him some rice cereal, see how he responds. I have the instructions for that, so we'll try it maybe a week before we go in.

He did great with his shots, he cried for maybe a minute then he was done. No tears. I have no problems watching him get shots. That may change once he can speak and say, no Mommy.

Not Much New

Elijah has his 4 month appointment on Friday morning. I think he's due for more shots. He seems to sleep through the night a few times a week, which is nice. He's not sick anymore, that ended days ago.

Here's a picture I took today. I had to take several tries, in all the other pictures he was drooling. He does that a lot now, and we know it will only increase once he starts teething. I will post again on Friday.

4 Months Old

Yesterday Elijah turned 4 months old. He's been fighting croup since we got back from Canada. We think it's due to the dust that piles up while we were gone, and not due to the travel. In any case, we bought a humidifier for his room, and he's been getting better every day. I spoke with a triage nurse on Tuesday and she said we were doing everything right, and his case wasn't that bad (No fever, breathing normal). He has his 4 month check up on the 15th, so we'll mention that to the doctor.

He's making sounds regularly, like he's trying to talk. It's the sweetest sound in the world. Geoff thinks he's trying to gurgle Daddy. We'll have to wait and see. :)

Elijah Update

Maybe you noticed (maybe you didn't), the name of the blog changed from Our Little Peanut to Elijah James. He's hardly a peanut now, he's getting to be as big boy. :) He's pretty tall. When I took him in to the doctor before we left on our trip he was 11 lbs, and 25 inches long. He's busting out of the newborn clothes, and can wear his 3-6 months clothes better.

We all survived our trip to Canada. He did great, was friendly towards everyone, and didn't mind being passed around. Geoff & I had an awesome time at the baby shower, and the gifts brought were excellent. Pictures are up from the trip, and Auntie Meghan & Nana are pooling theirs to get put up. I'll link to that when they are done.

Glendale did their 4th of July firework show on Saturday, and it was outstanding (once it started). Elijah saw a few and thought they were neat, but then fell asleep. The noise did not bother him. They are shot off a few blocks from us, and we have a great view from our balcony.

We're going to Target today to pick up some stuff for Elijah. He moved into his crib on Saturday so we want to get him a mobile. He seems to like his crib just fine.
